Implant-Based Reconstruction
Restoring your shape and confidence with a plan beautifully designed around you.

What Is Implant Reconstruction
A personalized approach to restoration.
Implant-based reconstruction is a trusted, widely used approach that utilizes breast implants to restore your natural volume and shape following a mastectomy.
For many women, this path offers beautifully customized results with a more streamlined recovery, as it does not require transferring tissue from another area of the body. Modern breast implants are designed to feel softer and look more authentic than ever before, allowing us to perfectly tailor your new shape to your unique frame and goals.

At ARBRA Plastic Surgery, our surgeons utilize the latest, most advanced techniques in implant reconstruction—including muscle-sparing approaches—to ensure your results are not just beautiful, but deeply comfortable and long-lasting.

FINDING YOUR BEST APPROACH
A beautifully customized path forward.
Rebuilding with implants is a highly versatile option available to most women navigating breast cancer surgery. We are here to listen to your vision, answer your questions, and guide you toward the specific surgical approach that feels absolutely right for you.
01
DIRECT-TO-IMPLANT
A One-Step Approach
For the right candidates, we can often place your final implant at the exact same time as your mastectomy. This advanced, "one-step" approach allows you to wake up from your cancer surgery with a beautifully defined breast shape, supporting a more streamlined healing process.
02
EXPANDER-TO-IMPLANT
Staged Reconstruction
If your skin needs time to heal or stretch after a mastectomy, we start by placing a temporary tissue expander. Over a series of short, comfortable office visits, the expander is gently filled until we reach your desired volume. Once you are ready, the expander is exchanged for your beautiful final implant during a simple outpatient procedure.
03
PREPECTORAL PLACEMENT
A More Natural Position
We prioritize your long-term comfort. Whenever possible, our surgeons place the implant "prepectorally," meaning it rests naturally over your chest muscle rather than beneath it. This muscle-sparing technique often means an easier recovery, less tightness, and a softer, more natural-looking result.
04
IMPLANT REVISION & REFINEMENT
Perfecting Your Results
If you have had a previous implant reconstruction and are experiencing discomfort, tightness, or simply wish to update your shape, we can help. We offer compassionate, expert revision care—including moving older subpectoral implants to a more comfortable position over the muscle—so you can finally feel completely at home in your body.

WHY IMPLANT RECONSTRUCTION
Your reconstruction should fit your lifestyle.
The goal is to understand your treatment journey and what matters most to your healing, then choose an approach that brings those pieces together beautifully.

WHY IMPLANT RECONSTRUCTION
Your reconstruction should fit your lifestyle.
Beautifully Customized
Implants come in a variety of shapes, profiles, and volumes, allowing us to expertly tailor your reconstruction to beautifully match your natural proportions or achieve your desired size.
No Additional Recovery Sites
Because this approach uses an implant rather than your own tissue, there are no additional surgical sites on your abdomen or thighs to heal from, which can be the right choice for many women.
Muscle-Sparing Comfort
By utilizing advanced pre-pectoral techniques, we can often place the implant over your chest muscle. This preserves your core strength and minimizes the discomfort or unnatural movement associated with older techniques.
Coordinated Care
Whether you are choosing a direct-to-implant approach or staged expansion, we work seamlessly with your oncology team to ensure your reconstruction perfectly aligns with your overall cancer care and healing timeline.
