Upper Buttock Flaps
SGAP
A gentle, natural approach utilizing soft tissue from the upper buttock.

An Excellent Alternative for Natural Restoration
The SGAP (Superior Gluteal Artery Perforator) flap is a highly specialized, natural-tissue reconstructive option that gently borrows available skin and fat from the upper buttock. This technique provides a wonderful alternative for women who desire an authentic, implant-free restoration but may not have enough abdominal tissue available for a traditional DIEP flap. By thoughtfully utilizing the soft, natural volume in this upper area, we can beautifully recreate a warm, natural-feeling breast that perfectly complements your unique frame.
Procedure
During this meticulous, muscle-sparing procedure, our surgeons use advanced microsurgical techniques to delicately transfer the soft tissue and its supplying blood vessels from your upper buttock to your chest. Most importantly, the underlying gluteal (buttock) muscle is completely preserved and protected, ensuring your physical strength and mobility remain fully intact. The transferred tissue is then expertly reconnected to the blood supply in your chest and artfully shaped to restore your natural breast contour, allowing you to heal safely and comfortably.
Benefits
Choosing an SGAP flap allows you to enjoy the profound peace of mind that comes with a completely natural, implant-free reconstruction. Because your new breast is created entirely from your own living tissue, it will look, move, and feel uniquely yours, naturally changing with your body over time. Furthermore, by expertly preserving your muscles, this specialized technique supports a smoother recovery, leaving you with a beautifully authentic result that helps you feel deeply confident and completely at home in your own skin.
