Lower Buttock Flaps
IGAP
A beautiful, natural alternative utilizing soft tissue from the lower buttock curve.

A Wonderful Option for Slender Patients
The IGAP (Inferior Gluteal Artery Perforator) flap, sometimes called the "in-the-crease" IGAP, is a highly specialized, natural-tissue reconstructive approach that gently borrows skin and fat from the lower buttock, just above the natural buttock crease. This technique provides an excellent, beautifully tailored option for women who are naturally slender, have low body fat, or simply do not have enough abdominal tissue available for a traditional DIEP flap. By thoughtfully utilizing the soft tissue in this area, we can artfully restore a warm, authentic-feeling breast while placing the donor site along the natural curve of your lower body.
Procedure
During this meticulous, muscle-sparing procedure, our surgeons use advanced microsurgical techniques to carefully transfer the soft tissue and its supplying blood vessels from your lower buttock to your chest. Crucially, the underlying gluteal (buttock) muscle is completely preserved and never cut or removed, ensuring your physical strength and mobility remain fully intact. The transferred tissue is then delicately reconnected to the blood supply in your chest and artfully shaped into a new, natural breast mound, allowing you to heal safely while your body's natural function is expertly protected.
Benefits
Choosing an IGAP flap allows you to enjoy the lifelong peace of mind that comes with a completely natural, implant-free reconstruction. Because your new breast is created from your own living tissue, it will look, move, and feel uniquely yours, naturally changing with your body over time. Furthermore, by expertly placing the donor site low on the buttock, the resulting scar remains beautifully concealed beneath the natural fold of the crease, ensuring you feel deeply confident and completely at home in whatever you choose to wear.

Enhanced safety & efficiency
The Dual-Microsurgeon Model
We are proud to be the first and only plastic surgery practice in Arkansas designed around a collaborative, dual-microsurgeon team approach.
By working in tandem, we are able to significantly reduce operating and anesthesia times, enhance patient safety, and double the precision applied to every detail of your surgery.
