Natural Tissue & Implants

HYBRID FLAPS

Thoughtfully pairing your own living tissue with an implant for a beautifully full, naturally projected restoration.

Personalized Fullness & Natural Form

For women who naturally have less donor tissue or desire a fuller breast size, a natural-tissue flap alone may not offer quite enough volume or forward projection to reach your reconstructive goals. Hybrid breast reconstruction offers an elegant, best-of-both-worlds approach by combining your own living tissue with an underlying breast implant. By enveloping the implant beneath a healthy, warm layer of your own tissue, we can craft a remarkably soft, full, and authentically contoured breast—allowing you to achieve your ideal size without sacrificing the natural touch and feel of autologous reconstruction.

Procedure

During this specialized procedure, your surgeon first performs a natural-tissue flap reconstruction to transfer healthy tissue to the chest area. To provide the desired fullness and projection, a breast implant is carefully placed beneath the flap, often supported by a biologic tissue matrix for optimal positioning and internal stability. Depending on your health, anatomy, and surgical plan, the implant can be placed immediately at the time of your flap procedure, or as a planned, delayed second-stage operation once the initial natural tissue has fully healed and settled.

Benefits

Choosing a hybrid flap allows slender women or those with minimal excess body tissue to achieve the ample volume and projection they desire while still enjoying the signature benefits of living tissue. Because the breast implant is cushioned underneath a healthy, vascularized flap, common implant concerns like visible edge rippling and thin skin coverage are significantly minimized. You receive the fuller projection of an implant paired with the warmth, softness, and lifelike movement of your own tissue, resulting in a balanced, radiant contour that helps you feel completely confident and at home in your body.

The Dual-Microsurgeon Model

We are proud to be the first and only plastic surgery practice in Arkansas designed around a collaborative, dual-microsurgeon team approach.

By working in tandem, we are able to significantly reduce operating and anesthesia times, enhance patient safety, and double the precision applied to every detail of your surgery. Typically found only in large, academic medical institutions, this model allows two fellowship-trained microsurgeons to operate together during complex procedures.
